Low Level Laser & Magnetic Therapy

How Low Level Laser Light Therapy Works

Low Level Laser Light Therapy is a low level laser treatment using far infrared light, which sends electrical currents into body reflex points. It is applied in close contact with the skin at sites of inflammation and damage.

Endorphins and Serotonin are released which give pain relief.

There are no known side effects or contra-indications in using Low Level Laser Light Therapy. It is painless. However, particular attention is given near the eyes, thyroid gland, during pregnancy and with cancer patients.

Laser can be used in all cases of acute and chronic pain whether muscular, vascular, rheumatic, inflammatory or of traumatic origin.

Conditions That May Be Treated By Low Level Laser Light Therapy

  • Musculoskeletal pain; including neck, jaw, shoulder and arm, rotator cuff disorders, tennis and golfers elbow.
  • Pain related to arthritis, ligaments, tendons and muscles around arthritic joints.
  • Back pain, “sciatica” and other pain referred from the spine, sports injuries, muscle strains, joint sprains and tendonitis.

Low Level Laser Light Therapy is also used for anti-aging including non-surgical facelifts and cellulite reductions (See Anti-aging page)

It is an alternative method for those who wish to quit smoking as it helps to suppress withdrawal symptoms and cravings, by releasing endorphins and serotonin. These happy chemicals make you feel good, promoting calmness and pain relief.

Magnetic Therapy

DSC_0088AMagnetic Therapy is the system of treating certain ailments by applying magnets of varying strength, polarity and frequency to the body.

It is believed that the magnetic fields produced by the magnets work on the energy systems in the body normalising any imbalances in particular in the nervous system. Magnetic Therapy is often particularly effective in pain relief and reducing inflammation.

It is:
– Non-invasive;
– Drug Free;
– Safe to apply; and
– Free of adverse side effects.

It may:
– Reduce swelling, inflammation and pain;
– Rebuild damaged tissue; and
– Reduce healing times.
